As I lay in bed, deep in grief and crying, I suddenly felt the bed depressed next to me, as if George had laid down next to me...I blinked, reached out to touch him, and felt him! I stared in disbelief at the crater he made in the mattress, as if he were really there.
I felt him reach for my hand, and I saw his eyes as he looked into my eyes. He proceeded to tell me how much he loved me, and how grateful he was for the time we had together. He held me in his arms and we talked for hours, and then I fell asleep.
When I awoke, he was gone, but I had the most wonderful feeling, even though the intense grief was still there. All I remember is him saying: I had no idea how many people loved me...and how much they loved me. If I had known, my life would have been different.
A few months later, I
was crying hysterically while in the bathroom after midnight, and there were
suddenly 3 booming crashes on the bathroom door (the door actually flexed inward
each time)...I didn't hear his voice, but the intent was clear: KNOCK IT OFF!
