Over the course of ten years I must have meet Judy 7 or 8 times. Judy and I hardly ever spoke to one another except in the company of friends. We hardly ever spoke but I could tell from the look in her eyes it was something deeper as if we knew one another in some past life. She call me from California on July 3, 1974 on my way to the beach in Seaside Heights N.J. . She wanted to tell me somting but we never finished our conversation. the next evening at the beach house I was tired and ready to call it a night. I had a bit of a sun burn and while I lay in bed I could still feel the motion of the waves as I fell asleep. I woke up yelling. 'whoa' I just came out of a weird dream. I sat up in bed and I looked at the clock it was 1:30 am. My scream woke my wife said she asked. 'what’s the matter.' I said ' I had a weird dream. I was walking down Orchard St. The old ironbound section of Newark new jersey. That still had cobble stone streets and venders who put their wears in front of their stores. In the dream it was gray foggy night with a chilly in the air and a light drizzling. The street was littered with paper and garbage. All of the shops were closed. I came across an old man locking an iron gate and recognize him. He was the old man Pop who ran the poolroom. I said. 'Hey Pop' and he put his finger to his to cover the hole in his neck so he could speak. In a very angry mechanical voice said. 'get the hell out of here your messing with things you don’t understand.' Put his keys in his pocket and crossed the street. I looked at him as he hobbled down the street and disappeared in the foggy mist. I continued down the street and came across a friend of mine George. I said 'Hey George.' But instead of the friendly greeting, he said. 'get the hell out of here.' As he walked past me. I continued on and meet several more people all of them said the same thing to me. For some reason they were angry I was there. As I continued down the street. Out of the fogy came a brightly light ice cream polar. I walked across the street and entered the store. It looked like a classic 1920 ice cream polar with a white marble floor and several round marble tables with wire back chairs. There was a guy standing behind a large marble counter wearing a paper hat and apron. The counter had three chrome soda fountains. On the wall behind it was a large mirror.
He asked. ' what will you have ?' as he
wiped the counter. I the mirror I
saw four people sitting in wire backed chairs at one of the tables all dressed
in white they had white hair but it wasn’t like an old persons hair it was
opalescent and vibrant. The two men and two women were beautiful and had
stunning blue eyes. On the table was a chrome metal Dixie cup holder with a
paper cone that looked like it was filled whip cream. I
walked up to the table and said what are you having. One of the women said.
'Sunday speed' (also known as angle dust.) And handed me a red straw. As bent
over I notice the cup was filled with a crystalline powder similar to cocaine.
As I put the straw to my noise I noticed a women in a small bathroom
bending over and vomiting in the toilet bowl.
Her long hair was all over the floor. I put the straw on the table and
the woman put her hand over mine but didn’t touch me and said. 'what are you
doing?' I said. There is someone in the toilet she’s sick. I’m going to help
her.' The woman said. 'why don’t you do this first then help her.' I said. 'no
I’m going to help her.' Instantly, the table and the four people disappeared. I
walked to the tiny bathroom but could not step in because her hair was all over
the floor. It was like in the fairy tale of Rapunzel’s long hair. I reached
in and put my index fingers behind her ears and
wrapped her hair around my right arm. I used my other hand to hold up her
forehead. When she finished, she leaned over the sink and washed her mouth and
stood up I put my arm down watching her long hair fall around her waist and down
to her ankles. When I look at her, it was Judy. She was crying, huge tears were
falling from her eyes and down her face. She said. ' I thought it would be
different but nothing has changed.' I put my hands on her shoulders and said
.’it’s ok I’m here to tell you that I love and god loves you. She repeated.
'I thought it would be different but nothing has changed.' I said. ' it
doesn’t; matter what you’ve done or where you are. She repeated.
'I thought it would be different but nothing has changed.
I said. 'get on your knees and ask god for forgiveness.' She again said.
'I thought it would be different but nothing has changed.' I put my arms around
her and pulled her into my arms she
put her head on my shoulder. She was sobbing heavily her tears were soaking my
shirt I said. 'god loves you and will forgive you.
Pray for forgiveness. She said the same thing over and over again 'I
thought it would be different but nothing has changed.' And responded. 'pray to
god.' Over and over again. My shirt became completely soaked in her tears. And
as I attempted to pull the wet material away from my skin I realized I have no
clothes on. In the dream I tried to grab at my shirt I was shocked that I had no
clothing on and I woke up yelling whoa. I sleep in the nude. As I told the dream
to my wife I realized that everyone I meet in my dream had already died in my
life except for Judy. My wife said. 'you had a dream about dead people you spoke
to Judy and she came in at the end of your dream. Call her when we get home.'
I fell back to sleep. The next morning everyone was very busy, getting ready for
another day at the beach. We decided to have breakfast at a local restaurant,
and were planning on bar-B-q hamburgers for lunch. All throughout the day I the
dream lingered in the back of my mind. I was trying to understand what she
meant. ' I through it would be
different but nothing has changed.'
The weekend was coming to a close and we were just laying around on the beach
taking in the sun. Our bags were packed by 2:00 pm and we decided to leave
because the traffic the drive home
was going to be long and tiring. When I arrived home around 6:00 pm.
As I put the key in the door I could hear the phone ringing. I rushed in
and put my suite case on the floor I picked it up the phone. It was Philip. I
said. 'hi' he said. ' where the hell have you been?
I’ve called you a hundred time since last night. I said. 'we were down
the shore. What’s the matter?' He
said. 'when I came home last night I
found Judy at the bottom of the pool. I was in a state of shock and said.
'what.?' He said she was bottom of the swimming pool . I jumped in and tried to
revive her. I called 911. The medics tried to revive her but eventually said
there was nothing more that could do.
They stopped trying to revive her at 11:30 pm. There was a small amount
of angle dust on the table by her cigarettes. But in the commotion I hid it and
the medics and police didn’t noticed.'
