Around 6:30 am on Saturday, October 11 2019 my wife and I received a phone call
that my brother-in-law had passed away in a motorcycle accident the night
before. At that point in time I was
shocked but, then I proceed to tell my wife about a dream that I had that same
morning.
Kerry was a farmer but, he was a Harley rider and never liked to wear helmets
when riding. He also had this really
long beard. In my dream, we were at
the steps of a church and he was in a all white suit.
Now, Kerry doesn't wear suits.
I'm not sure if he even owned one.
He didn't wear a suit to our wedding so it was kind of different seeing
him in that suit. He was preparing
to go through the doors of the church and it didn't seem like the conversation
was long at all. He was smiling though.
I just remember him saying something along the lines that he will see me
later. The next thing I know, I wake
up to the phone call that he had passed away.
Was this experience difficult to express in words?
No
Did you hear the deceased or hear something
associated with the deceased?
No
Did you feel a touch or experience any physical
contact from the deceased?
No
Did you see the deceased?
No
Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance
or odor associated with the deceased?
No
How long did the experience last?
I was dreaming so it
felt like 5 or 10 min in the dream but, it may have been only less than a
minute.
Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?
It seemed like it was just a random thing that I dreamed about.
So, I would have to say it was more sudden.
Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?
Yes
Seemed happy/peaceful.
Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?
No.
How do you currently view the reality of your experience?
Experience was
definitely real
Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not
real:
The timing of the event in addition to the fact
that my brother in law had on a white suit at the steps of a church.
When they would come visit my Mother and Father in Laws.
If he went to Church, he didn't wear a suit.
Was the experience dream like in any way?
Yes
It occurred while I was sleeping.
Describe in detail
your feelings/emotions during the experience:
It was good to see him in the dream and it was almost like I would see him later
and maybe catch a game or something.
It just struck me odd that he was wearing a white suit on the steps of a church.
Knowing, how dreams can be I did really ask because I was there with him.
I feel like I was aware that I was dreaming this.
Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?
Yes
I was hesitant to relay this to my sister-in-law but, eventually I told
her. Also, told my nephew about this
a couple of years ago and it seemed that it made him feel good to hear that. We
are tight.
What was the best and worst part of your experience?
Well, the best part is having that feeling that he is in another
existing/plane and the worst part would be it being related to him actually
passing away and leaving a wife and two kids.
Has your life changed specifically as a result of
your experience?
No
Did you have any
changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
No
Did the experience give you any spiritual
understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?
Uncertain
It just reinforces my belief in life after
death.
Death Compacts are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever
dies first will try to contact the other(s).
Have you ever made such a compact?
No
Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your
experience that could be verified later?
No
What emotions did you
feel during the experience?
Sadness upon finding out he passed but, relieved that I believe he was telling
me he was in a better place and things were going to be alright.
Was the experience witnessed or experienced by others?
No
Did you have any sense of altered space or time?
No
Did you have a sense of knowing, special
knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
No
Did you become aware of future events?
No
Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other
special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the
experience?
No
Did you experience a separation of your
consciousness from your body?
No
Did you meet or see any other beings other than
the deceased?
No
Did you see a light?
No
Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a
place other than the location described above?
No
Have you shared this experience with others?
Yes
Wife, Sister-in-law, and nephews.
I occasionally tell this story to folks whenever we have conversations on
the paranormal.
Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other
researcher or web site?
No
Were there any associated medications or substances with the
potential to affect the experience?
No
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life,
medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body
experience or other spiritual event?
Uncertain
I have had one premonition which was part of a dream as well.
When I was younger around the age of 19 or 20 my friend and I were going
to spend time at his girlfriends apartment (she lived with her father who wasn't
too fond of black people). Anyway,
we were hanging out when she looked out the window and said 'Hurry, get in the
closet.' I immediately replied 'No we are not.
I had a dream last night that you said to get in the closet and I didn't
know what happened.' It was kind of
a strange coincidence but, I kind of feel that maybe I have some type of
'ability'.
Please offer any suggestions you may have to
improve this questionnaire.
I believe this was pretty thorough.
Thanks for offering a place to have this kind of outlet.
