I had just returned from a visit to Chicago, where my in-laws-to-be resided. My fianc and I had spent time with her elderly Grandmother who is so kind and smart like mine was. Upon returning to Los Angeles, I went to my usual yoga class. Before class I started to lay on my mat, closed my eyes and was very relaxed. In my mind I spoke to my Grandma, about my trip and how I envied my finance's ability to still talk with her Grandmother. I told her how I missed her and wished that she would be able to be at my wedding, which was steadily approaching. Within moments, I felt physical hands caressing mine and moving thumbs on the tops of my hands in a circular motion. I felt the electricity as if invisible mechanical hands were holding mine. In my mind I told her, "I can feel you, I know you're there, this is incredible. I miss you Grandma" This sensation continued for 3 or 4 minutes, until she was gone. This made me so happy, I had no doubt it was her. My grief subsided and I felt very blessed.
The best part of all of this came on my wedding day a
month later. When my bride-to-be faced me at the altar we were told to hold
hands. We hadn't rehearsed this part, you're just supposed to do what feels
natural. She took my hands in the exact same position with her thumbs on top of
my hands. When I thought about it later it really made me smile.
