On 15th October 2002, I had been talking during the evening to a number of people at a social club about signs from the other side. When I went to bed that evening, I put our bedroom light on (its a normal ON/OFF switch) immediately it flickered a little, it dimmed slightly, then got brighter a couple of times. I said "Come on love, show us what you can do". Over a period of about 30 seconds, the light bulb gradually grew dimmer and dimmer as if some one was turning down a dimmer switch. The room eventually finished up in total darkness. I immediately turned on a light in another room, and that light was fine. I later checked the bedroom bulb in another room and found it didn't work any more. I have spoken to many people since about this, including an electrician, and all have never known a light bulb to burn its self out over nearly a minute.
I have
documented many other contacts over the weeks since she died, and can pass you
these if you wish to telephone. 15th October was the last date that anything
happened with the electrics (in our house), but other things have happened since
then and continue to happen. It would take hours to list them all on this web
site.
Did you hear the deceased
or hear something associated with the deceased?
No
Did you feel a touch or
experience any physical contact from the deceased?
No
Did you see the
deceased?
No
Did you smell a distinct
smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?
No
Could you sense the emotions
or mood of the deceased?
No
How do you currently view the
reality of your experience?
Experience was definitely real
Please explain
why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:
We were wide awake, we'd had no
previous problems with the electrics. Before the house had been rewired, we'd
had endless problems. I believe my wife chose to play with the electrics because
there would be no way we could dismiss these occurrences as electrical problems.
It cost a lot of money to have the house rewired, and we often had pride, and
laughed after the work had been done, specially during the dark cold winter
months, because we knew that we'd not be having any more problems.
Also at
the time of her death, we were due to move house. She obviously knows that we
have not now moved, and came into our existing house to make these things
happen.
Was the
experience dream like in any way?
No
Describe in detail your
feelings/emotions during the experience:
Pleasure, and gratitude in the
knowledge that even after she had died, she had been able to give us 100% proof
that she is fine, and one day we'll all be together again.
What was the best and worst
part of your experience?
The best part is knowing that she
is with us and sees us. I accept that she can't always do these things, but put
that down to only having so much energy or something like that. I shall always
believe that she is waiting for us, and loves us dearly. There is no bad part to
the experiences, or any of the other ones not documented here.
Did you have any changes of
attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes
I had thought that I was a
Christian, but I am now more inclined to believe in the faith of Spiritualism.
Did the experience give you
any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God,
etc.?
Yes
Absolute proof that there is
life after death.
Death Compacts
are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies
first will try to contact the other(s). Have you ever made such a
compact?
Uncertain
When she was sedated in
Hospital, I asked her to give us some signs that she was OK if she could.
Did you observe or hear
anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be
verified later?
No
What emotions did you feel
during the experience?
Happiness!!
Was the experience witnessed
or experienced by others?
Yes
My son and I witnessed the full
power cut. Only I witnessed the bedroom light on the other occasion.
Did you have any psychic,
paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have
prior to the experience?
Uncertain
No but I did have one before.
On 3rd July I was reading a book during the evening. At one point I had the urge
to pause. Three word came in to my head
Alfred,
Castles, flowers. I carried on reading, and these words all appeared three pages
later. It was a knew book, I'd not flicked through it, and it wasn't a work of
fiction (so there wasn't a story) that I was reading and could have predicted
what was going to happen next. This is the one and only time this type of thing
has ever happened to me with a book. Alfred, Castles, and flower together, have
no significance to me.
Have
you shared this experience with others?
Yes
Some
found it astounding (those with after life belief). I think one or two others
probably thought it was my / our imagination.
Have
you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher or
web site?
No
Is
there anything else you would like to add regarding your experience?
I
believe that her love for us, and her generosity when on earth, were fundamental
to her wanting and being able to give us these signs. We were extremely close,
and she her self called us "soul mates". A few weeks before her death, we'd
even talked about how much closer we'd grown over the years. I adored her, and
took hundreds of photos over the years. Many of these were framed and displayed
even while she was with us. She was very sincere, and always put others first. I
believe that her earth qualities, some how gave her the desire, and the power to
do what she's done for me and our son. During her last hours when sedated and on
a ventilator, I talked endlessly to her. I said she was going to be with Jesus,
and her daddy. I asked her to give us the strength, to carry on. Hours later I
held her, as the ventilator was turned off. I believe she knew I was there, and
was determined to let us know that although gone suddenly, she's fine.
Were there any
associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the
experience?
No
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life,
medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Did
you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or
other spiritual event?
Yes
The
incident with the book described above. Also many times I thought I'd heard my
name called out, (in the weeks after she died) - when in bed.
