I was preparing to go to sleep. I have just closed my eyes then I heard the door of my room open and close but there was no one there because it was just me and my husband at home and my husband was fast asleep. Then, I closed my eyes again, and there--- in front of me is a spirit. I asked the spirit who it was and she said she's my beloved maternal grandmother who passed away in 2002. We had a short conversation but what was weird is that we spoke through mind/feelings, not with the use of physical body. I didn't see my grandma's physical form but I just knew it was her. She said she just wanted to see me and know how I was doing.
I heard her chuckle as well but I heard this through feelings. After this conversation, I saw her kiss my left cheek and she said goodbye.
Throughout this whole
experience, we used feelings, not the physical body. And while this was
happening, I wasn't afraid. It was as if this was the most normal thing to do--
to talk to a deceased grandmother. After she left, I immediately opened my eyes
and told my husband of what happened. Of course, he didn't believe me. Anyway,
I emailed my aunties about this and they told me that it was my grandma's death
anniversary the following day (which I forgot about).
Was
the kind of experience difficult to express in words?
Yes Yes. Because it was the first time it ever happened to me.
At
the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?
No
At
what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness
and alertness?
All throughout.
How
did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience
compare to your normal every day consciousness and alertness?
More consciousness and alertness than normal
All throughout.
Did
your vision differ in any way from your normal, everyday vision (in any aspect,
such as clarity, field of vision, colors, brightness, depth perception degree of
solidness/transparency of objects, etc.)?
Yes I couldn't explain it. I didn't see with my physical eyes but I could
see her.
Did
your hearing differ in any way from your normal, everyday hearing (in any
aspect, such as clarity, ability to recognize source of sound, pitch, loudness,
etc.)?
Yes I heard her talk to me but not with the use of ears but
through feelings and mind.
Did
you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
I was very happy to see her. Surprisingly, not scared at all.
Did
you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience
you did not have prior to the experience?
Yes A few months after this experience, I saw my deceased father standing
beside the dresser looking at me. Then a few months after that, I heard
children laughing and playing around me as I was about to wake up from an
afternoon nap. I felt that these children are my children, and what's weird is
that my husband and I are child-free. Months after I had this experience with
children, I got pregnant.
Have you shared this experience with others?
Yes I shared this immediately with my husband because I was very, very, very
surprised that this happened.
Did
you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?
No
How
did you view the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it
happened:
Experience was definitely real
Were there one or several parts of the experience especially meaningful or
significant to you?
When
we were talking, I remember thinking-"Wow! This is so amazing! I can talk to
my deceased grandmother." After I thought of that, I heard my grandmother
laugh.
How
do you currently view the reality of your experience:
Experience was definitely real Because I have just closed my eyes
when it happened. I was still very, very awake and I know I wasn't dreaming.
Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your
experience?
No
Have your religious beliefs/practices changed specifically as a result of your
experience?
No
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life,
medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Did
the questions asked and information you provided so far accurately and
comprehensively describe your experience?
Yes
