Shelly J's
Pet ADC
|
Of course, for days after her disappearance, I hoped against hope that she would return, and come bounding through the pet door installed in our bedroom wall.
About 7 to
10 days after her disappearance, I awoke to her meowing loudly in my right ear,
as she often did when she was hungry and wanted me to get up and feed her. At
first I thought I had been dreaming when I woke up, but I continued to hear the
meowing from the living room, which is just off our bedroom. I jumped out of bed
screaming: "Magic! Magic!" but I couldn't find her anywhere. I must have spent a
good hour looking behind furniture, in other rooms, under the bed, and calling
her continuously. I was completely baffled, but, later, I decided that I must be
grieving much more than I had been willing to admit. However, her visits
continued...the last one being about 5 days ago.

Was the beginning and end
of the experience gradual or more sudden?
I'd have to say it was BOTH. Sudden...in that the meowing was so loud it woke me
up, and GRADUAL, in that it continued into the living room, and the meowing
gradually ended in that area.

SECOND SET EXPERIENCES
On August 23, 2002, I submitted an ADF experience concerning my deceased cat, Magic. It's listed as Shelly J's Pet ADC 8/23/02.
I've had about 5 ADC's with Magic, the other three being mainly purring and meowing after the first contact, when she awakened me to let me know she was home. However, the third ADC is even more astounding than the first one I shared!
Shortly after the first ADC experience with Magic, with my grieving greatly reduced, knowing she was still with me, my husband and I discussed getting another kitten. So, one day, we decided to go and just "look" at a local pet store. I was extremely undecided about whether to get another kitty at this point, but I realized that my husband was still grieving something awful over Magic and he seemed to think that another kitten would help both of us at this time, and so I agreed when he picked out a tiny gray kitten, and, once again, a female. The pet shop said she was part Blue Russian. She was very tiny and feminine, so we named her Missy.
A few weeks after Missy came to live with us, I was getting ready to go to town. I went into our walk-in closet to look for my good pair of shoes. I didn't turn the closet light on, as I was in a hurry, and it was a sunny day, but the closet wasn't as fully lit as I'd have liked. I was on my hands and knees searching for my shoes, when I heard meowing. I made a mental note to make sure I left the closet door ajar so that Missy could get out when I went to town. Then I saw the bottoms of my long dresses moving, and I said: " Missy, I don't have time to play right now!" Then the meowing began again at the other end of the closet. Then, in a flash, I heard meowing and purring from my side of the closet, again! I thought..."Wow! She's fast today!" This was one of the games I always played with Magic, and Missy seemed to enjoy it, too....Mama and kitty playing hide and seek in the walk-in closet!
After finding my shoes, and leaving the closet door open, I went into the kitchen to collect my keys and shopping list. As I walked into the living room to get my purse, I was shocked to see Missy asleep on the sofa. For a second, I felt very confused, looking towards the closet door, ajar, which I could see from the living room, and then looking at Missy fast asleep on the sofa.... then it HIT me! I had been playing hide and seek with Magic !!
This ADC went beyond just hearing meowing and purring. Magic had been swatting the bottoms of my dresses, with her paws, just as she did in life! She had engaged me to play one of her favorite games!
As I said, up to this point, today, I've had about 5 ADC's with Magic. For me, it's become common to hear her purring and meowing. It gives me such a feeling of joy to know, without a doubt, that Magic is still with us.
Another one of her favorite games was to play "mouse behind the shower curtain". I would run my finger from one side of the shower curtain, and while she was in the tub, she'd lunge at the curtain, or, vice versa, if I was in the tub, I'd pull the shower curtain, and we'd play the game that way. One time, she fell into the tub, but just shook herself off and continued the game.
If she attempts to play the "mouse behind the shower curtain" game in the future, I'll share it on this web site just as soon as I can.

made when they were alive?
The same...similar
How clearly did you
hear the deceased? As clearly
as if she was actually in the closet.

How long did the
experience last? Probably about 2 or 3 minutes

How do you currently view the

What did you feel (while
awake) immediately prior to your experience?
Happy
Describe in detail your
feelings/emotions during the experience:
I was chuckling, thinking it was Missy in the closet, and felt sad that I didn't
have time to play as I was late getting to the market. When I realized, later,
that it was MAGIC in the closet, it just warmed my heart and I was so happy that
she had returned again.
What other

Joy

Even more emotional healing than the first major ADC with Magic.

in any way? No
Has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious
practices etc.? Career choices?

and thank the Creator for allowing Magic to still be with me.
Have you shared this experience with others? Yes
Describe: I shared this ADC with my husband and he was really shocked, and it seemed incredulous to him.. However, I know that he believed me when I described what happened.
My mother
and daughter, once again, were saying..." Wow ! " About 2 weeks after this ADC,
my mother, also, had an ADC with Magic, but I'll allow her to tell the story,
and will encourage her to share it on this web site. she and Magic were very
close, too, and it was difficult for her to accept Magic's death, as well.
Have you shared this
experience formally or informally with any other researcher or web site?
No
What emotions/feelings did you experience following your experience?
Great joy and happiness
What was
the best and worst part of your experience?
The best part was hearing Magic so clearly, and actually seeing her trying to

because, by now, I'm used to her "visits", and I know she'll return within a day
or two.
