My
parents, my Dad's sister along with my twin sister met a friend of theirs for
breakfast before he left on a trip to Mexico.
My twin and I were not that interested in what they were talking about
but when Clyde began talking to us about how Mexico looked and what he was going
to bring us back, that certainly captured our attention.
He gave us both a big hug and kiss before he left for his trip.
I cried because I didn't think I would see him again, which I thought was
a silly thing to do, cry.
He
was to meet a friend of his and they would drive to Mexico.
Sometime during the second night on the road, they were in Mexico.
We were told that a truck had cut them off and the vehicle they were in
ended in a gully and Clyde had been decapitated.
To
an 8-year-old, this was a very disturbing experience on two accounts.
The first one because I was emotional when he left and the second one, I
had a vision of him walking across our back yard.
I
was an adult before I was able to look outside at night because of this.
