I am going to tell you my experience. It is what it is. At the time, I had visited my father twice in that summer of 2001. I could see he was dying.
He said to me, "I am dying" I said "I know, but will you please wait for me up there and when I come, please be there" He said he would, and I believed him.
We smiled.
In my heart, I was scared to death to see him leave me. I did not wish to see him go at all. This world is too frightening enough. Yet, my faith was strong, I think God knew that living so far from home and family was hard on me. I endured so many things alone out here. I prayed God would assist me in this first loss. Please tell me when I must attend my fathers funeral. That was all I asked. Fearful throughout the rest of the summer, calling home often. My Mother was exhausted. Dad couldn't breathe he had bad lungs and heart. It was agonizing for them both. One night late in August, I had a dream. I was standing in this strange park with small winding roads. It was almost darkness. I was seeing a woman on a knoll, which had a row of tree's behind it. She was calling to me. I rounded the bend and walked to her. I stopped just a few feet from her. Something said "Go no further" I saw her dress, it was white as white can be, with delicate embroidery, when she moved it made a noise. starchy? Her head was covered around her face. Her face was such a delicate face. I could see her hair a bit, a lovely chestnut brown. Petite mouth and nose, she was beautiful, but elegantly simplistic beauty.. She was pointing to the ground, and she was telling me something I did not want to hear. I cried out NO...and backed away. She was telling me my Father was going home soon, and that was what upset me. Where she pointed, was where he would take his final resting place. I cried and cried and left her. In three days time, my father passed away on a Friday at around 3:15 pm. My Mother called me to tell me. Though I expected this phone call all month, I remembered the dream. and said nothing.
I felt so bad I was not there. Had I taken her direction, I could have left the next day to be there for my father wanted his daughters to be there. I know he forgave this. After he passed and I was getting so emotional, I went to my room and closed the door and cried my heart out. I distinctly heard his voice say "Cry for a few days, then turn off the faucet" I smiled. He always had a funny way of saying things. I left here by air, and got there just in time to attend the funeral arraignments. When we buried him, it was exactly on a knoll with tree's in a row, it was exactly where the Virgin pointed to me. I had no idea our family had a whole plot there with all our ancestors resting there.
On my way home, I
thanked my heavenly Mother for preparing me for the dread ahead. She is so
loving, so understanding of how I felt. I thank her again.
Was this experience
difficult to express in words?
No
Did you ONLY sense
an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing,
feeling or smelling them?
Yes
Did you hear the
deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?
Yes
Did
the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you,
or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was
communicated?
My Fathers voice was audible to my mind, and he is the only person that would
say something like Turn off the faucet.
If
you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound
the deceased made when they were alive?
Sounded exactly like my
Father.
Is
there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the
surroundings at the time of your experience?
No I was alone in my
room. My husband went outside to work.
Was
there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?
No.
Did you feel a
touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?
No
Is
there any possibility what you felt was from any other source present in the
surroundings at the time of your experience?
No. I could not have
known where he was to be buried. I have lived away for years and no one ever
visited that graveyard in my lifetime.
My dream occurred in my
room. My husband slept near me. No. He didn't appear in my dream.
Did you see the
deceased?
Yes
I saw the blessed
Mother in this dream. I knew it to be her from something internal, and also
something told me to stay at least a couple of feet from her because she was
holy. The only picture I have seen of her that resembles her is one from
Medjigoria. That is very very similar. I have also had an experience earlier in
life of the smell of roses in my room. It lasted several minutes. i don't use
fake smells, my husband is allergic to all chemical smells.
How
clearly did the deceased appear?
Very clearly.
How
much of the deceased did you see?
All. I couldn't see her
feet for the long gown.
Did
the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?
She looked around 24
years of age. Young.
How
healthy did the deceased appear to be?
fine.
Is
there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the
surroundings at the time of your experience?
I cannot explain the
dream except what it is. No one I know looks like her.
Did you smell a
distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?
What
smell, scent, fragrance or odor did you smell?
None in this dream.
Was the beginning
and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?
The dream lasted
for about fifteen min it felt like. Who knows when your dreaming.
Could you sense the
emotions or mood of the deceased?
Yes
She was loving,
informative, patient.
Did the deceased
give you information you did not previously know?
Yes. She said my
father was going to his home in heaven. I knew he was going to die sometime
soon, but I didn't know when. The when part was hard because I live so far away.
How do you
currently view the reality of your experience?
Experience was
definitely real
Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not
real:
There have been a few times prior to this experience when I encountered the
Supreme being. Totally surprised. I was putting my son to bed and saying a
prayer with him. After it was over, I felt this immense outpouring of love from
outside myself coming in. It was so great that there was no doubt it was God. It
tells me that everything I ever believed about God is true. He loves us so much.
Was
the experience dream like in any way?
Yes
There are dreams we
all have that are quickly dismissed because well, they are just a jumble of what
we experience during our days. I know when I dream of something important it
sticks and I recall the details the next morning or wake after it occurred.
Knowing its important. This one will be with me forever.
Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?
Yes
Yes. It was much
easier to handle with heavens help.
I just knew I had to attend to it alone, without my husband or family.
God knew it was a huge
Endeavour alone. he was with me.
What was the best
and worst part of your experience?
Seeing that death is
part of life. We have buried 15 people since my Dad's death. It is now something
that is just as real as birth. We live we die.
Has your life
changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes
Describe:
I pay attention
to those signals now.
Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
No
Did the experience
give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God,
etc.? Yes
God is good, God is great. He is with me always.
Death Compacts
are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies
first will try to contact the other(s). Have you ever made such a
compact?
Uncertain
Dad and I just
promised we would assist one another when our time came.
Did you observe or
hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be
verified later?
Yes
That was the graveyard she pointed to.
What emotions did
you feel during the experience?
After the dream. I was
apprehensive, sad, pensive.
I was just slightly anxious prior to the dream.
I guess you could say
it was a gift from above.
Was the experience
witnessed or experienced by others?
No
Did you have any
sense of altered space or time?
No
Did you have a
sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
