I was lying in bed after crying myself to sleep on Dec. 26th, 1972, the day my Daddy was buried. All I remember is that I was praying so hard to have him back right now, and then I woke, suddenly, in the dark, wondering what woke me. I felt warmth, something heavy, or pressure, like the space around the bed was a cocoon with me and the bed inside. It was still, peaceful, and I opened my eyes. I knew that Daddy was there before I opened them. I sat up in bed. Like someone else said in another post, he was standing at the foot of my bed, and there was a hazy aura around him, like he was stepping out of a cloud, and the circle framing it all was faintly glowing. You could see him from about the knee up, which may be due to the height of the bed, but I think the aura started there and went up. He was wearing his usual white long sleeved shirt and khaki pants.
I said aloud, "DADDY!, I love you, please come back, I'll do anything (pleading)". Without his lips moving, I heard him say, "I love you too baby. Don't cry for me, I don't hurt anymore". He was soon gone and I was begging him not to go. I lay back down and cried myself to sleep again, but it was NOT a dream, I was very much awake. When the second encounter happened a year later, I was close to sleep, but had been praying all night in front of a candle burning for him on the anniversary of his death, asking God to forgive me for being so selfish as to want him immediately back on earth, because that would've meant he'd still be suffering. This time we talked what seemed a long while. I don't remember all the words, just that they were comforting, and happy, and HE was happy, and content. We ended his time laughing and saying I love you! I hated him leaving, but was glad he didn't fade away as fast as the first time, and I was by this time just grateful that he was at peace, because he suffered so much on earth.
I know he is around me
a lot, especially on long road trips because he makes his presence known (he was
a truck driver), and keeps me company when I get stir crazy. Sometimes I just
"know" he's there. It feels warm and then his face floods my mind, and it makes
me smile.
Did you hear
the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?
Yes
Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:
Without his lips
moving, I heard his voice say, "I love you too baby. Don't cry for me, I don't
hurt anymore". It was very clear, and it was his voice.
Did
the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you,
or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was
communicated?
In my head, internally.
If
you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound
the deceased made when they were alive?
Very similar, exactly
the same.
Is
there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the
surroundings at the time of your experience?
No, no one there, or
awake in the house.
Was
there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?
No, but I don't
think his voice came thru my ears; just in my mind.
Did you feel a
touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?
No
Did you see the
deceased?
Yes
He was dressed in
the usual: khaki slacks, white shirt.
How
clearly did the deceased appear?
Solid but with a hazy
background like he stepped out of a cloud and it waited at his back for his
return.
How
much of the deceased did you see?
From the knees up.
Did
the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?
He was the right age
for when he died.
How
healthy did the deceased appear to be?
Very healthy and happy
looking, no pain on his face! He'd had heart problems all my life and the last 5
years had quit working because of it, and his face showed the progression of it.
I am the same now, and remember it clearly, and know now how he felt.
Is
there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the
surroundings at the time of your experience?
There were no sources
of light on in the room at the time.
Did you smell a
distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?
Uncertain
What
smell, scent, fragrance or odor did you smell?
Sometimes later I've
smelled Old Spice and know he's there. Not sure about this time though.
How long did the
experience last?
First time about
2 minutes. Second time seemed like about 30 minutes to an hour, a long, happy
visit.
Was the beginning
and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?
Pretty sudden.
Could you sense the
emotions or mood of the deceased?
Yes
Absolutely; he
smiled, sometimes just serious, but never sad.
Did the deceased
give you information you did not previously know?
It's made me
have NO doubts anymore that Heaven exists. Daddy told me there is no pain, so
fear, only happy times.
How do you
currently view the reality of your experience?
Experience was
definitely real
Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not
real:
Because I was awake, and remember it all, and I didn't suddenly wake up
wondering if I was dreaming, or confused. Afterwards I just went back to sleep,
and woke normally in the morning KNOWING it happened.
Was
the experience dream like in any way?
No
Describe in
detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:
At first I wondered is
this really happening? Then I realized it was quite real, and it hurt to see him
go so fast, but after that I felt better.
Was there any
emotional healing in any way following the experience?
Yes
I stopped being
angry with him, and God, and the confusion left.
What was the best
