During this time of my life, I was 28 and in the middle of a very emotional and stressful breakup with my fianc of 4 years. I felt SO alone and empty. I was suddenly out on my own and looking for a place to live and trying to buy a new, reliable vehicle as mine was old and threatening to break down at any time. I had no one to help me or give me advice. My fianc had been the person I had turned to for so long that I didn't know what to do or who to reach out to. It was the most alone I had felt since my adopted mother died in June of 2005, when I was just 19 years old.
On Jan 10, 2012, I bought a new car and was on my way back to the home I had been sharing with my fianc for the last two years (I had not found a new place to live at this point and was still staying with him). The radio in the car was off. I was riding in silence and thinking about all the things that was going on in my life. I sometimes sing Christian hymns that I remember from my childhood when I'm feeling stressed or upset. It reminds me of Sunday mornings with my mother before she died. On the way home that day, I unconsciously started singing a song called "Coming Home", which was the song the congregation was singing the night my mother was saved. While I was singing this song, I felt an overwhelming sense of love and peace come over me. It was the most profound feeling of love that I have ever felt in my entire life. I felt like my entire body was wrapped in love and peace. The feeling was so thick, it felt like being wrapped in a blanket. Tears of joy began to stream down my face. I believe with all my heart and mind that this was a visit from my mother and that she was reminding me that I am never truly alone and that all things have a way of I working out for those that believe and have faith.
