The first time, I was at my Aunt's home after the funeral and a bright, white light flew across the room and burst into a star burst on the door knob. No one else saw that when it happened.
The second time, we had just gotten back from the hospital seeing my Step Father in Law after he died. Outside the window there was a bright light that flashed and went away.
The third
time, I had a dream that I went down to my neighbor's house to see how "Bob" was
doing. His wife told me she couldn't talk because "Bob" just died. The next day
I received a phone call telling me that "Bob" passed away unexpectedly. I
didn't tell anyone about my dream, too embarrassed that if I had said something
I could have possibly saved his life. Then when I saw his wife, we hugged and
talked then she said she couldn't talk anymore and went inside the house, just
like in my dream.
Was this experience
difficult to express in words?
Yes I was afraid that
people would think I was mental.
How long did the experience
last?
All experiences only lasted a few
seconds. If you blinked you would miss it. The dream was a dream.
Was the beginning and end of
the experience gradual or more sudden?
All experiences were sudden
and unexpected.
Could you sense the emotions
or mood of the deceased?
No
How do you currently view the
reality of your experience?
Experience was definitely real
Please explain
why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:
All these things have
happened to me more than once to just pass it off as nothing.
Describe in detail your
feelings/emotions during the experience:
All of the events happened at
different times. I was doing my usual routines with the family. I guess you
could say I was stressed and tired.
Was there any emotional
healing in any way following the experience?
Yes
With two of my experiences, I
felt relieved to know that they are in heaven, but since I didn't see the light
with the third person, I hope that he is in heaven. I still would like a sign
that he is in heaven to comfort me.
What was the best and worst
part of your experience?
The first two was knowing that my
loved ones are in Heaven are the best parts. The worst is that I didn't warn
anyone about my dream. I felt had I took the dream more serious, then "Bob"
maybe would still be alive.
Has your life changed
specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes
Describe:
I will from
here on out take my dreams more serious and try to handle certain dreams to
prevent any harmful happenings.
Did you have any changes
of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes I knew that there was a God and heaven.
Did the experience give you
any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God,
etc.?
Uncertain
I still have a fear that some people think that this is an evil thing and I
don't want to get caught up in any kind of witch craft. I was told by a church
music director that I had a "gift" and needed to learn about it.
Death Compacts
are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies
first will try to contact the other(s). Have you ever made such a
compact?
Yes
My cousin and I both agreed
that when we died, we would let the other know that we were okay and we were in
heaven with our loved ones that have passed on.
Did you observe or hear
anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be
verified later?
Yes Yes, my dream became
reality when I received the phone call telling me that my friend/neighbor has
passed away.
What emotions did you feel
during the experience?
I felt confused, excited and
hopeful.
Did you have any psychic,
paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have
prior to the experience?
Uncertain
I don't know if this is what
you call a "gift". It just started before my cousin's death.
Did you see a light?
Yes
Two times I saw a flash of
light. The first time the flash flew across the room and exploded into a star
burst on the door knob.
Did any part of your
experience seem to occur in a place other than the location described
above?
No
Have you shared this
experience with others?
Yes
I have shared this with a man who has died on the operating table and went to
heaven and came back to earth. He seemed to relate to my "gift".
Other
people don't react the way I had hoped they would making me think that they
don't want to believe me.
Have you shared this
experience formally or informally with any other researcher or web site?
No
Is there anything else you
would like to add regarding your experience?
I want to find answers to this
"gift" and how to manage it to help others.
Were there any associated
medications or substances with the potential to affect the
experience?
No
Following the experience, have
you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which
reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Did you ever in your life have
a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual
event?
No
Did the questions asked and
information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your
experience?
Yes
I hope to get answers to how to
handle my "gift".
Please
offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.
Please let people know that they
are not alone and you or someone will be in touch to help them find their
answers.
