I dreamed I died in a car accident and as I saw the EMTs working on my body I floated up and saw all this happing below me. Just as I started to panic, I saw something out of the corner of my eyes...as I turned my head...a white light appeard with stars in the background. As if the stars just became much more apparent and apart of the world forming around me. Another world had formed over my shoulders. I glanced back and forth just to verify the dividing point of these two worlds was myself. I can remember thinking...okay should I walk away from the ambulance. Just then I heard my name. I saw this man that I did not recognize and he was blurry like I had a lot of water in my eyes...just when I tried to rub eyes, he spoke again...I didn't hear him...it was like all my senses where going in and out of focus then I looked back at the EMTs and they were moving so slow...like someone pressed pause. Then he said, if you keep looking back we won't be able to talk. Then I turned to him again and he became clearer. I said, "who are you?" He said,"I am your grandfather." I said, "I don't know you." He said, "You might not know me, but I have loved you your whole life." I immediatly recognized him as my mother's father. Then all these scribbled forms of light and dark started to take recognizable shapes. I saw my father's dad, my mother's mom, etc. A few people were not able to transform completely. My grandfather told me that some where unable to expose themselves to me because they were not ready to. Perfect happiness takes time, but there is plenty of help here. My aunt, whom committed suicide, had not been there long enough to be able to form something I could recognize...that's when I realized that all these people took very generic forms...as to not upset me. Like post cards. I was not ready to see how they really are. Then grandpa said that he wished to hug me. He walked up to me and gave me the warmest hug, like warm blanket of love. That is the best word I have to describe it. Then he said that there were a few more friends that missed me...I looked down and saw these quickly moving scribbles of light. As I bent down to see what they were, they flashed memories to me...directly into my soul. Imagine someone taking a picture and the flash bulb...like that, but the flash was tactile and warm. I could feel it and be there. It was my dog, Casey and another smaller entity that I wasn't sure, but might be my dog Jonsie. As soon as I realized it, he took the form of my cute little dog. My grandfather then said...this all comes more easy to animals then to us...because they don't question everything...they have blind faith, automatically. They find their perfect happiness very quickly here. We, as in humans, get caught up in the a old forms and sometimes revert back to them for comfort...that goes away after some time passes.
I asked my granpa if I was dead. He replied yes you are, but not for long. You will wake soon. Then I asked if this was a dream, he said, "no you have not been dreaming and you must tell your mother that I miss her, wink at her when you tell her."
Next thing that happen has caused this skeptic to stay awake at night. He jerked me violently and said "wake! Go see the doctor about your throat...it was kill you again...I can't always send you back. Right then, I looked across the faces of my famiy and they started to spin into light. Like energy and they rolled around me...like a vortex. My grandpa voice shock me out of a sound sleep...I had a very sore throat, very dry.
I was so freaked out by my dream that I spoke to my boyfriend about it. He was a third year medical school student. He said, "well let me look at your throat." He was shocked at what he saw...I was later dignosised with servere sleep apenea caused by an oversized uvula that needed immediate surgery.
--I told the doctor of my dream after I recovered my voice, he said that he wouldn't be surprized if I had not of died judging by the size of my inflammed uvula. I was blocking my air way completely...and if I were to fall asleep on my back, I would have suffocated.
My
grandfather only winked when he told people that he loved them. My mother, who
is a born skeptic, wept openly after I told her this dream. She is sure that it
was the spirit of her father that saved me. Not necessarily for my
benefit...heaven looked nice. But for my mother's benefit.
