As submitted by daughter Joanne

My parents, Loraine and Mike adopted  a Russian Blue cat in January 2017 which they named Kit (aka Kitty) who was a neglected kitten who lived a street away. My dad was the one who found her and started caring for her in 2016. The two bonded so closely. Kit adored everyone in the family equally but she was definitely my dad's cat. We all gave so much love to Kit and she returned the love to us. My parents bought her so many cat toys that she loved and countless brands of cat food, giving her the best in life. She had their large four bedroom house to enjoy and many rooms to explore. However at 2 years of age, she came down with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) which is incurable. They spent $6000 in vet bills desperately trying to save her but and we had to make that heartbreaking decision to help her on her next journey by having her put to sleep on March 31, 2018. It was so enormously heart breaking and we are all grieving so heavily. It's been unbelievably painful.

My parents and I wondered if we'd see any signs from Kit when she passed but when nothing happened immediately, we were feeling sad. However two days after the loss of Kit, as my parents and I were getting ready to speak on Facetime with my brother, Scott, at 8:40pm I heard two meows at the front door. I immediately sat forward on the couch which my parents witnessed but they didn't hear the meow themselves. Kit used to always meow at the front door. My dad instantly checked the front door but there was no cat in sight. Later on the call my mother and I also had a brief thump at the backdoor. Kit used to also scratch at the backdoor. My dad went outside to take a look and noticed a flower pot had fallen on the ground but there was no wind that night.

My dad continued to spend time in the garden where he and Kit spent a lot of time together and where she now rests. My dad called out her name a few times and would sit on his white plastic chair in the garden where he and Kit would sit together.  Still determined to see a sign from Kit, one morning he decided to lay out his robe very flat on his bed, making sure it was very smooth. By the afternoon, he'd gone into his room and came out to alert me that there was an imprint as though Kit had been sleeping there. It was raised like it was 3-D and when looking closer it's like her legs appear in the picture.
