I was working on a school assignment. I had to write an editorial for TV class. It was about cats and the new by-law to keep all cats indoors. I had only written a few sentences when I got up to get a drink from the kitchen. I left the paper for a while, and came back later to finish it. I sat down to continue writing and immediate noticed something written in all lower case letters with no spaces. It said (I will copy and paste this from the document itself- since I have saved it to my computer for all these years):
hi melanie.hiimelaniehimelaniehoareu iamokdontworryaboutme
When I read this message, I immediate got up and interrogated everyone in my household. I brought them to the computer and asked them if they wrote this message. My mom, my dad and my boyfriend (who were not all home at the time) strongly denied writing it, and were just as amazed as I was to find this message there.
Well, in disbelief, and as skeptical as I was, I was still not sure what to make of it- that is until I came upon a book at a bookstore several weeks later. I had never seen the book before in my life; it was called "Contact the Other Side", by Konstantinos. This author makes attempts to communicate with the other side through various electronic means. I opened it up almost instantly to page 145 and could not believe my eyes. On the page was written a message the author claimed was written on his computer and came from the spirit world. It was written in all lower case letters with no spaces, which he too cut and pasted for publishing in his book. It read like this:
wehavethelinkhereyesdifficultbutherebettertorelyonsound
translated, it means, "We have the link here, yes. Difficult, but here. Better to rely on sound."
In tears, I almost dropped the book right where I was standing. Indeed, I had received a message from my brother through the computer. How amazing is THAT?! And, it seems, according to those from spirit world, this isn't an easy way to come through, therefore, not very common, but it sure did get my attention.
Was this experience
difficult to express in words?
No
How do you
currently view the reality of your experience?
Experience was
definitely real
Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not
real:
I have the physical evidence that it happened on my computer right now, and I
have my family as witnesses that it happened.
Was
the experience dream like in any way?
No
Describe in detail
your feelings/emotions during the experience:
When I discovered the
message, at first I was confused, like "who put this here?" but then it clicked
that this might be from my brother. I was excited and amazed when I realized no
one else in my family had written it.
Was there any
emotional healing in any way following the experience?
Yes
Of course, I looked
at his message carefully and studied the meaning. He called me by my full name
as he always did when he was alive (on earth)- instead of using my nickname, mel
or melly as other family members do. Most important, his message was that he was
OK, and he said "don't worry about me"- and according to Bill and Judy
Guggenheim (whose book I have since read), this is a very common message during
ADCs. This not only provided me with proof that he is still alive in some
unseen world, but also it was comforting that he wanted me to know that he was
OK.
What was the best
and worst part of your experience?
The best was that my
brother loved me so much that he could come through in what appears to be a very
difficult way- and that he relayed such a personal message to me. The worst part
of it is that I now seek to receive more messages from him and often leave my
word document open on my computer- waiting for him to send me another, but he
never does.
Has your life
changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes
Describe:
I am devoted to
spiritualism now, and to sharing my brother's story and the numerous ADCs I
experienced. I plan to write a book about them, in fact I currently write
monthly about them in my church newsletter.
Did
you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes I was more assured that there is an afterlife.
Did
the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death,
afterlife, God, etc.?
Yes It taught me without a doubt that life is everlasting.
Death Compacts
are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies
first will try to contact the other(s). Have you ever made such a
compact?
Yes
I
have since said this with my husband. My brother was not in the compact with me,
I don't think, although I remember asking my Grandma to come contact me after
she died- but I don't think she did make any obvious contact with me after she
died.
Did
you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience
that could be verified later?
Uncertain I am not sure I understand the question- but as indicated, the book I
read later helped to verify that the message was real- that other spirits have
come through similarly.
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
I am
still amazed and in awe that my brother could do that. I share this information
with as many people as I can, I don't care if they think I am crazy. People need
to know how amazing this truly is; spirits are using modern means to
communicate. My brother was good on the computer before he died, so it doesn't
surprise me that he chose this route to communicate with me (among many others
since then).
Was
the experience witnessed or experienced by others?
Yes
Did
you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience
that you did not have prior to the experience?
Uncertain
I
had more psychic experiences after my brother died, but not related to this
particular experience, I don't think.
Have you shared this experience with others?
Yes My mom was happy and comforted. My husband was amazed but still
skeptical. My dad was happy too. Most people don't know how to react to it. One
friend claimed the message could have come from a computer virus. I didn't buy
it.
Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher
or web site?
No
Is
there anything else you would like to add regarding your experience?
No.
I think I have said it all.
Were there any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect
the experience?
No
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life,
medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Did
you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or
other spiritual event?
Uncertain
I
have had several other spiritual events and experiences, non as significant as
NDE or out of body, but I have had several other ADCs involving physical
phenomena
Did
the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively
describe your experience?
Yes
