This experience was not supernatural but still seemed very much like communication beyond the grave.  My son died eight years ago.  After about six years I was desperate for a sign that he was okay.  I started to ask him out loud to send me a yellow rose to let me know that he was still with me.  On the anniversary of his death this year I visited his grave.  On the headstone someone had laid a single yellow rose.  It just seemed to much of a coincidence and I felt that he was communicating with me and letting me know he was still with me.

Was the experience difficult to express in words?     No

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?   No                

Is there any possibility what you felt was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?   Yes someone must have put the rose there.  But no one ever really visits the grave except me and my mother.  I have split up with his father and he now lives in Germany so I have no idea who left it there.

Did you see the deceased?   No                      

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?    No                

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?   No        

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?    Experience was definitely real    I asked for this sign specifically.  It was provided on the anniversary of his death in a very unique way.

Was the experience dream like in any way?    No   

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?    Uncertain   

What was the best and worst part of your experience?    Obviously thinking that he was still with me in some way and I may get to see him and meet him when I die.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?    No        

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?    Uncertain    I am uncertain because everything in life is a mystery.  I may be mistaken, it may have been just purely a coincidence.  I will never know.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?   No

Was the experience witnessed or experienced by others?    Yes    My mother.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?       No   

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?        Uncertain    I had a premonition about my son before he died that he would not live very long.  I said it to my partner at the time but he thought it was a silly thing to say.  But I just knew that he was not long for this world.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?    No   

Did you meet or see any other beings other than the deceased?    No   

Did you see a light?    Uncertain    Sometimes I see a tiny flash of light out of the side of my eye.

Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a place other than the location described above?   No   

Have you shared this experience with others?    Yes    Told my best friend she just thought it was a nice story, don't think she really believed it was communication from beyond the grave.

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?   No   

Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event?      Yes    Yes when I was younger myself and 2 other girls were all working in a hotel for the summer.  We all had the same experiences of someone stroking our hair, blowing on our faces and not being able to wake up.  It happened to us at different times and we believe the room was being haunted by something or other.
