My daughter loved to travel and after she was killed, we spread her ashes across the US in her favorite locations. When I was a child, my Aunt introduced my sister and I to Cassadaga. Cassadaga is a spiritualist camp located in Florida about an hour from Jacksonville where we grew up. My daughter studied metaphysics and I told her of the camp. During our many trips to Florida we planned to go, but never did for various reasons. After spreading her ashes in St. Augustine, one of her favorite places, we went to place some of her ashes in the cemetery there.
My sister who studies metaphysics, myself, my son and my daughter's boyfriend were walking around the cemetery looking for the best spot to place her ashes. There were several large oak trees, which Kristy loved, and we decided under one of the trees would be appropriate. I asked her boyfriend which one he liked and he couldn't decide. While we were having this conversation the lights in the cemetery came on as it was approaching dusk. My sister asked out loud, "Kristy, which tree would you like?" At that moment the light over a specific oak tree went out. My sister asked again out loud, "Kristy do you want this tree?", a few seconds later the light came back on. We all knew at that moment Kristy communicated with us and had picked her tree.
We all felt her
presence and placed her ashes under the tree. It was an emotional experience
that we all shared and I felt she knew we loved her and our actions were a labor
of love for her.
