Experience description:

I was told of his death at 5pm on April 27th 2013, I was greatly distressed.  At around 9pm, I became very calm.  Then I saw a figure outside my window - not a reflection - there was a figure of a man standing there in my garden.  I live in a most isolated location, so this was exceptional.  I felt no fear or alarm even though I live alone in a remote place.  The experience lasted for a whole minute or more.  Then the figure was no longer there.  I believe someone had come from the other side to see if I was OK.  I am not saying it was the deceased, but it might have been.  That was a Saturday.  The following Wednesday morning I again became calm, having been in distress for the intervening period.  After I calmed, I fleetingly saw the deceased just outside my window at 10am in full daylight.

 Was this experience difficult to express in words?  No

 Did you ONLY sense an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling them?        No

 Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?          No

 Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased? No

 Did you see the deceased?         Yes

 The deceased appeared in full health on the Wednesday after his demise.  He was dressed very trendily as he was always very well presented, despite having endured mental health issues.

            How clearly did the deceased appear?            Solid

            How much of the deceased did you see?       All

            Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?       He appeared just as he was when alive - 33 years old.

            How healthy did the deceased appear to be?            No sign of neck injury.  I did not know the exact cause of death for some weeks - I couldn't bear to be told the detail for a long time.

            Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           No

 Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?      No

 How long did the experience last?        A minute or a little more on the first occasion, just a fleeting couple of seconds on the second occasion.

 Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?         Each time I looked out of the window first on the Saturday, the figure was there.  The second time, I looked up from polishing a table in the window, and the deceased was there. Both experiences ended suddenly

 Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?           Yes

 There was concern for me.

 Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?  No

 How do you currently view the reality of your experience?           Experience was definitely real

             Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:           I was conscious and not emotionally distressed at the times the experiences occurred - I was calm.  I

             Was the experience dream like in any way?   No

 Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:           I was severely distressed for days but on the two occasions that I had an experience, I was very calm - perhaps unusually so, at the time of the experiences.

 Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?           Yes

 I still felt distress on and off for weeks even months - still do - but I knew he was safe and in a better place, and not ill any more.

 What was the best and worst part of your experience?      What was great is knowing that the deceased is well and safe.

 Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Yes                 Describe:            I have no fear of death.

I feel less rooted to the planet we are on.

 Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes     More than a belief, i have a knowledge that there is an afterlife.

 Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?   Yes     I know there is a life after death.  I feel no fear.

 Death Compacts are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies first will try to contact the other(s).  Have you ever made such a compact?   Yes

 We are still alive.

 Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?     No

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            After the first experience, I felt somewhat puzzled.  After the second, I knew his trauma, whatever it had been, was over and I was pleased and relieved at that.

 Was the experience witnessed or experienced by others?           No

 Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   Yes

 Things seemed in slow motion on the first occasion.

 Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    No

 Did you become aware of future events?       No

 Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?  No

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     No

 Did you meet or see any other beings other than the deceased?            Yes

 As I said, on the Saturday, there was someone, a man outside.  I am not sure it was the deceased.

 Did you see a light?           No

 Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a place other than the location described above?          No

 Have you shared this experience with others?        

Yes     The mother of the deceased accepted my experience.  I think it helped her.

A Baptist Minister dismissed my experience as impossible - He said when someone dies they have no contact with the living, they are away in heaven somewhere else.

 Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher or web site?            No

 Were there any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience? No

 Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         No 

Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event?       Yes 

A couple of years earlier, my father (deceased for several years) was experienced by me as a passenger in my car.  I knew he was there with me, but had none of the 5 senses - no sight, smell, touch etc.

 Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?                     Yes
