Seven months after my Mum's death, I had my strongest and most shocking experience of several involving her.
I was in my sitting room with my computer on. I had put a picture of my Mum on the desktop. I was playing a tune I had written for her and looking at her picture. As I looked at the picture, the eyes seemed to flash at me. Then I sensed her walk into the room and sit on the sofa. I said, in my head "Hello Mum, what are you doing here? I wrote this tune for you, what do you think?"
She replied in my head "It's very good, but sit down, I have something important to tell you." I sat down... "Something very big is going to happen soon and you need to be ready for it"
I asked her what was going to happen. She didn't reply to that. After this, she was gone.
This was a very intense experience. I was really taken aback and told my wife about it. She was worried, mostly in case it had implications for me, heart attack or something.
About a week or so later my then 16 year old daughter announced out of the blue that she was pregnant. I was so shocked, I passed out on the sofa. I came round to find my wife talking to me, trying to bring me round I stood up and asked my daughter if she was sure. Her answer made it clear she was, and I passed out again and was carted off to hospital. My daughter did not tell us she was pregnant until the day she knew herself. she hadn't even suspected until then, she was a teenager with an irregular cycle...
This ADC had a very profound effect on me, my Mum had talked to me about something that was in the future, that I didn't have a clue about - I had absolutely no idea that my daughter was pregnant and I'm certain that I didn't know it "subconsciously" so to speak.
Eight months later, my beautiful grand-daughter was born. My Mum always loved children, it was typical of her to come and deliver that news.
Was this experience
difficult to express in words?
Uncertain
Sort of. It was
telepathic, but so strong. I felt her there in the room, she sat down.
Did you ONLY sense
an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing,
feeling or smelling them? Yes
Did you hear the
deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?
Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:
Voice in my head
Did
the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you,
or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was
communicated? A
voice in my head, clear as a bell. I spoke in my head to
Was
there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?
No
Did you feel a
touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?
No
Did you see the
deceased?
Did you smell a
distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?
No
Could you sense the
emotions or mood of the deceased?
Yes
Happy, but sincere,
with purpose
Did the deceased
give you information you did not previously know?
Yes. Please
read my story above. The communication gave information that became clear about
5 days later. The connection is just too close to be a coincidence. The
experience was very strong, I told my wife about it at the time.
How do you
currently view the reality of your experience?
Experience was
definitely real
Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not
real:
Simply the strength of it, and it came after a number of others also involving
my mother. I have had other experiences since too, one involving seeing a huge
blue eye in the sky one day, which gave me this amazing feeling of serenity, and
I felt I understood how all life connected together. I was really lucky..
Was
the experience dream like in any way?
Yes
Seems like a dream
now, although it certainly wasn't
Describe in detail
your feelings/emotions during the experience:
Very calm, serene,
almost matter of fact.
Was there any
emotional healing in any way following the experience?
Yes
Really helped to be
positive about the forthcoming birth, and the future in general
What was the best
and worst part of your experience?
The worst part is they
peter out, I feel like I return to the "physical" world. It hard to sustain
that state of mind in some ways
Has your life
changed specifically as a result of your experience?
No
Did
you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes Belief in a loving, humorous wonderful God, who only loves, doesn't
judge. No need for organized religion but need to keep aware, and pray. I see
signs now when I walk around. All nature is connected. I could tell when both
my parents were going to die from a change in bird song in my garden. Told my
wife / partner both times. Life is awesome :-)
Did
the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death,
afterlife, God, etc.?
Yes This and other experiences made me feel I understood how all life
connects together, how it flows continually like a river. I felt all life and
everything extends beyond our perception to a higher plane, that's where souls
go to at death
Death Compacts
are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies
first will try to contact the other(s). Have you ever made such a
compact?
No
Did
you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience
that could be verified later?
No
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
Discussed it with my wife, pondered it. Experienced extreme shock about 5 days
later when my daughter dropped the news...
Was
the experience witnessed or experienced by others?
No
Did
you have any sense of altered space or time?
No
Did
you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or
purpose?
Yes
This
and other experiences made me feel that
Did
you become aware of future events?
Yes
Spot
on bar the details that my mum would not be permitted to impart, because they
were for my daughter to tell
Did
you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience
that you did not have prior to the experience?
Yes
Heightened awareness of life, people, an amazing vision of a beautiful blue eye
in the sky, making me feel so serene and with such understanding. I could see
how utterly wonderful everything is
Did
you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?
No
Did
you meet or see any other beings other than the deceased?
Yes
Yes,
on another occasion
Did
you see a light?
Yes
Eyes
of the photograph of my Mum flashed at me, a slow gentle but definite flash
Did
any part of your experience seem to occur in a place other than the location
described above?
No
Have you shared this experience with others?
Yes Mostly wonder, nearly always people are captivated. One or two can't be
bothered. Quite a few come back at me with their own stories. These
experiences are quite common it seems, amongst ordinary folk, not especially
religious etc.
Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher
or web site?
Yes
ADC
website, Guggenheims site, on their message board, along with a load of other
experiences I've had
Were there any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect
the experience?
Uncertain
Had
Flu. Had no special medication but may have had a headache tablet.
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life,
medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Did
you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or
