After my father passed away I was staying with my mother to try and help her out as much as I could. I wasn't extremely close with my father growing up but the last 5 years of his life we truly developed a great relationship.
I was asleep on the couch in my mother's living room and all of the sudden woke up when the lamp resting next to the couch turned on. I rolled over on my side and looked up to the recliner that my father had set in for so many years and to my shock there he sat again. My father when not working relaxed in sweat pants and a sweat shirt. When I rolled over and saw him he was wearing bright white sweat pants and a bright white sweat shirt. He had a huge smile on his face that lit the entire room. My father didn't have the greatest teeth mind you, but during this experience they were as white as they could be. I also noticed an elderly woman standing behind him leaning on the back of the recliner smiling at me as well. My father leaned up and rested his elbows on his knees and through his smile said "Jason its ok, I am fine and there is no need to worry or be upset." He reached out and grabbed my hand and set there and smiled at me a little while longer and then said it was time for him to go. The elderly woman standing behind him never spoke a word, just continued smiling at me. I couldn't speak, all I could do is stare in amazement. My father reached up and turned the lamp off and I reached up and turned it back on and they were gone.
I ran to my mothers room and woke her up and told her what had happened. I told her that I didn't know who the elderly woman was behind my father. I described her to my mother as best I could and she told me it was my dads mother. I had never seen my grandma before. She had passed away before I was born. I had never even seen a picture of her but from my description my mother knew it was her.
I am
married now with a family of my own and a couple of years ago we spent a weekend
with my mother. My wife and son and I were going to bed. I turned the light off
and laid down. I had left the bedroom door open and floating through the hallway
I saw a bright ball of light. It was moving slowly and seemed to evaporate after
being visible for 5 seconds or so. I called out to my wife and said did you see
that? Unfortunately she was lying on her stomach and didn't. I told my mother
about it the next morning and she said yeah I know I've seen it too. Your father
is still in this house.
