Most significant. First, during my father's viewing, I saw my father standing off to the side of his coffin - he was vibrant, smiling, and observing the interactions of the 200+ people that attended. Second and on, usually driving my truck. I have a sense of not being alone and look in my rear view mirror and "saw" my father sitting behind me and leaning forward and we talk. Usually me saying, "hi, dad." Then he would respond and ask how I was doing and we'd chat for a few minutes and then he would be gone. Several times while tending to the horses, I heard my father laughing. His voice would come from the corral where a mare and foal were located. I would then feel a sense of him being there. Often heard his laughter. Never in my home or at work. A couple of weeks prior to my son's wedding, my father appeared in the truck and I told him I knew he would be present and, because my son told me he wished my father could have attended his wedding, I asked him to give my son a sign so he knew my father was there. The day prior to my son's wedding, we were sitting in his den (me, my son and his now wife) and my son rested his head on the pillow I had brought with me from home. He lifted his head and then bent down and smelled the pillow and stated, "this smells like poppa." My father had never used the pillow or the pillow case. I later told my daughter-in-law what I had asked of my father but did not tell my son because he is extremely skeptic. Eventually, she told my son what I had requested of my father and my son was visibly shaken but rationlized it as his imagination.
My
father's appearances became less frequent after the wedding for about six months
there were none at all. Now they are infrequent but still occur and my mother
is with him in most occurrences but she doesn't communicate.
