My beloved dog, Bailey had been in and out of health his entire life. At one
point he became paralyzed and we were told he may have spinal cancer, but he
regained his health and ability to walk within a couple weeks. A couple
years later, randomly, he lost his equilibrium and ability to walk upright,
and I could not bare watching him suffer. My mother and I decided to take
him to the vet to be put down. I loved this dog more than anything. We
loaded him into a van to take him to the vet, it was my mother's work van.
My boyfriend and mother sat up front and my dog and I in the back, so i
could comfort him and spend my last moments with him. As soon as we pulled
into the parking lot of the vets office, on the radio, a song that was
played at my brother's funeral came on.I had not heard the song being played
since his funeral. It was so distinct. The sound seemed like it was louder
than whatever else had been previously playing on the radio. My mother and I
felt an overwhelming sense of warmth, almost. I looked at my mother and she
looked at me and I said "what the heck?". We were both in complete awe. We
let the song play and we both knew it was my brother coming to comfort me
and help cross my beloved dog (Bailey) to the other side. I guess now we
know- all dogs do go to heaven.
