The second time was 10 days later when we were staying at my elder daughter's home in England. This time I saw my son come into the room with a beautiful smile on his face and he said "Dad ba-hebak" Dad I love you, one of the few expressions he knew in Arabic, my maternal tongue. He had asked me to teach him the phrase a few weeks before his death, I answered him back and then the image disappeared and I was in a dark room again.
All the times since then, I can see his face up at the ceiling and as he comes closer to me and I put my arms out to hold him I am wide awake and the image disappears, and I call out please stay, to no avail, I find these incidents very frustrating in their shortness.
Before his death we talked about his approaching death very openly, and had read with him a number of books on the after life. He, his mother and I agreed that we shall all be in contact for the rest of our time on this side, and on the other side, For a number of years I felt his presence all the time first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and right through the day, but slowly i began to feel he was less and less present, I felt he was moving to another plane.
He has
been our guardian angel, whenever we ask for his help he always does, in so many
cases, absolutely incredible things. For example, I had lost my keys for
three days. I looked day and night everywhere I could think of. Finally I
said to Joe, "please help me." The next time I went to the WC there were the
keys next to the wash hand basin. It was mind blowing, this has happened so
often in so many different ways, that we can't believe it is coincidental any
more.

My

months when he decided that he wanted no further treatment as his doctors had
informed him that all that was possible had been tried. His hair and beard
grew, and at the time of his death it covered finely his face and face, and of
course he was crippled and could not walk, when he appeared to me his hair and
beard were long and wild, and he was playing the clown, and pulling faces. And
he was no longer crippled.

floating above me in bed, I could only see his head, shoulders and arms, they

the opportunity to see my beloved again.

Joy of seeing
my boy, the worst was the fleeting period of the experience
Has
your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes
Describe:
My life has
completely changed not only due to my experiences but especially in the period
of watching my son suffer and die in my arms. The pain was the greatest I have
felt, and I have undergone my share of physical and mental agony. But the
moment of death of Joe was unlike anything I have felt, and the need to have an
answer to the eternal question, "Why him?" We came to understand that God had
put an angel in our midst, and had taken him back. The reasons are not for us to
understand, and that the separation is very temporary. During his illness and
for a long time after I prayed all the time that the Lord take me instead of
him, he deserved to experience life, I had my share of life. But Joe said
to me so often, "dad your time has not come, you have still a lot to do", you
still have Mummy, my sisters and their children to look after". I have come to
accept this, and live my life accordingly. Faith has become central in our life.
Did
you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes
It
has returned me back to my faith, and made it remarkable
Did
the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death,
afterlife, God, etc.?
Yes,
Reinforced my faith in Eternal life, and our spirit is from God and a part of
God.
What
emotions did you feel during the experience?
Frustration and
anger that it ended, and that its always so fleeting, But always great gratitude
that it happens.
Have
you shared this experience with others?
Yes
With
my wife who had great faith and capacity for love, and my daughters, and for the
past year with members of our Church community. Reactions have always been
always completely positive.
Have
you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher or
web site?
No
Is
there anything else you would like to add regarding your experience?
My son
was truly an amazing person, he was the only person I knew that wanted nothing
for himself, never hated anyone or coveted anything. After his death we found
out from his many friends what he meant to them, and what a strong moral force
he was in their lives, even when he was dying, it was him that they came to for
advice and help.
Were there any
associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the
experience?
Uncertain,
I
am and have been under cardiac treatment.
Did
the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively
describe your experience?
Yes
