I’m a retired software engineer and during my career I did a lot of business
travel. In 2012 I had to go to a
customer site in China. Got on the
plane for the long flight with my headphones and iPhone full of music.
During the flight I started to get
the feeling that my deceased brother was very happy for some reason.
I knew it didn’t come from me, because I didn’t think it up.
It was foreign, sort of pushed into me, so it came from another source
and I knew it was him.
He
wasn’t just happy, he was ecstatic.
Like jumping up and down happy. No
words he just made me feel that he was beside himself happy.
I’ve never felt anything like that before.
It was bizarre and it got stronger as the day went on.
I
left the USA on Dec 2nd, 2012 and arrived in China 20+ hours later on Dec 3rd.
Got to the hotel late at night and called my wife to check in and the
first thing she told me was that my uncle/mom’s brother Laddie died the day I
left. So I told her about the happy
vibe I was getting from my brother and maybe it was because Laddie, our uncle
had joined the family on the other side.
That happy vibe stayed with me for a week and when it left I knew for
certain it was gone, I could not get it back, which told me it did not originate
from me. It was real.
Flew home the following Saturday and the next day my wife, mom and I drove to a
church in Quincy, Ma, to attend Laddie’s service.
We got there and my cousin, Laddie’s daughter told us Jane and Beth,
mom’s and Laddie's sister and her daughter from NH wouldn’t be able to attend
the service because Jane was admitted into the hospital in NH with a minor
stomach issue that morning.
When we left Laddie’s service for home I knew why my brother was so happy.
I knew Jane was going to die soon.
My brother was so happy because he was getting two more of his blood
family over there. He didn’t have
many close blood relatives on the other side when he first passed in 1971
because he was so young, and now he had two in a row with whom he had shared
memories with. Also, he was closer
to my mom’s side of the family. He
even looked like them.
When we got home from Laddie’s service I told my wife and mom that I thought
Jane was going to die soon because of the happy vibe I got from my brother.
To
make a long story short, Jane passed away December 16, two weeks to the day her
brother Laddie left us.
My
mom and I had no clue either of them were having any new health issues.
I
believe my brother did this to prepare me for my mom’s passing, which happened
13 months later. She was the oldest
of the three sibs and passed at 88.
He knew that I knew for certain that he was the source of the happy vibe.
That feeling did not originate from me.
He
knew all these events would comfort me when my mom passed 13 months later.
Was this experience difficult to express in words?
No
Did you ONLY sense an awareness of presence of the
deceased without actually seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling them?
Yes
Did you hear the deceased or hear something
associated with the deceased?
No
Did you feel a touch or experience any physical
contact from the deceased?
No
Did you see the deceased?
No
Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance
or odor associated with the deceased?
No
How long did the experience last?
The happy vibe
emanating from my brother to me lasted 1 week and a day.
The day after my aunt passed it was gone.
Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?
My brother's presence/aura of happiness increased over the first few hours on
the flight and stayed that way until it left me completely eight days later, the
day after my aunt passed.
Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?
Yes
Extremely ecstatic. Beside
himself happy. Blissful.
Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?
My brother gave me enough information/clues to figure and that my aunt was going
to pass too. I figured out his
purpose was to inform me that Jane was going to die shortly after our uncle
Laddie. Our aunt died 14 days after
my uncle.
How do you currently view the reality of your experience?
Experience was
definitely real
Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not
real:
Because I felt it, and my interpretation of the
experience was correct and turned out to actually happen.
I told my wife and mother that I believed her sister was going to die
soon and that actually happened one week later.
When we were told she was in the hospital the reason was not serious at
all.
Was the experience dream like in any way?
No
Describe in detail
your feelings/emotions during the experience:
A little confused as to why I was feeling this extreme elation from my long
deceased brother. I felt it and
absolutely knew it was coming from him.
I felt him.
Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?
Yes
It confirmed to me that my brother was still alive and still loved me and
that I'd see him again. I believe he
took the time and effort to convey this information to me to help me when my mom
passed 13 months later. He did this
because he still cares about his little brother.
What was the best and worst part of your experience?
Best is a confirmation that there is life after death.
There was nothing bad about the experience.
Has your life changed specifically as a result of
your experience?
No
