It was exactly 3 AM by the Clock Radio, when something awoke Me from My sleep and then got up to go to the Toilet. When I returned a Minute or Two later, I simply laid there a short time thinking before noticing something strange about the Ceiling directly above the Bed. I was well awake by this time and saw a peculiar light emanating from the plaster Ceiling above Me, and as I watched it for a few seconds it began to grow in Size and Intensity. It started out as a dim light about the size of a Five Cent Coin but continued to grow and became Brighter as it did, until after about a Minute it was at least as large as a Dinner Plate and as bright as a 60 Watt Light Globe, but with a Slightly Bluish Tinge. Like nothing from this World. The Light was Very Directional and in fact made a circular or oval beam down to the Bed that I was laying on and basically illuminated only the area taken up by Me. The rest of the Room was in complete Darkness. To tell the Truth, I was terrified and pulled the Doona cover up other My face until only My Eyes were Peeking above it- like a Kid who's just gone to Bed after watching a Horror Movie.

I remember thinking several things, like Was I seeing the Light?- Had I died ?? But checking My Breathing and Pulse confirmed that I was in fact still OK. I then thought the light could be coming from somewhere else, like reflection. But a Look at the Window and Down under the Door revealed that everything outside that Room was Pitch Black. It also wasn't an Electrical fault as I could see the Ceiling Light, it was about 18 inches from the Beam and Obviously Switched off- in Darkness. So I gazed at the Light and found it hard to move a Muscle by now, from the fear of what was happening to Me. It was then that I realized that the Ceiling now had a Whole in it, in the centre of the Light Beam. A Dark, Black Hole about as wide as an Orange. I knew I wasn't going to fit through that, so started to question the Purpose of it all. It was then that I realized what was Possibly going on.

About a Year before this encounter, My Best Mate Peter had Passed away in Hospital. Being a much Older Gentleman, He had always said that If He could, He would contact Me from the other side to let Me know if there was Life after Death. I scoffed at the Idea at the Time, but still took Him up on His offer. Peter had always asked when My Wife and I were going to have another Child as our First Daughter was already Eight and was Lonely. Peter loved Kids, especially Girls and said it would be wonderful if We had another Little Girl. But it was difficult conceiving this time and it wasn't for lack of trying. I thought about Peter's Promise of coming back to see Me if He could and it was then that I felt a Strange calm and understanding as I looked up into the Light. In a Gentle Voice I said " I know now that it's you Pete, You've come to see Me! ".  And with that, the Light Disappeared up into the Ceiling the same way as it Appeared. In Hindsight I finally got the Full Message. You see Peter Died at 3 AM, the same Time as I was awoken. The Light Disappeared at 3:06 AM, the Time that the Hospital rang Me to say My Best Friend had Died.

This happened on the 31st of August 2004. Our new Baby Daughter was born on the 31st of May 2005, Exactly Nine Months to the Day of the Visiting Light. This was the First Time I had slept on My own in that Bed, because this Night My Wife was Sleeping next to our other Daughter, who was Sick in Her Bedroom. To top off, Our Baby was born at 3 AM. I sincerely believe that this encounter was to Inform Me of Our Successful Conceiving of Our Lovely New Daughter the Day before and for Me at least, Proof Positive of Life after Death.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Fear, bewilderment, thought at First I was Dying or Dead.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?    No           

Did you see a light?           Yes     Slightly Bluish in Color, A Directional Beam that covered only Me. Not Blinding in Strength but similar to a Dentists Light.

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Uncertain      I feel I have identified the Person and their message.

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? No      

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No      

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          Yes            normal

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   No      

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes     I truly believe I was receiving confirmation of the conceiving of our Child

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?             No      

Did you become aware of future events?       Yes     Exact Accuracy, Baby was born 9 months to the day and Time.

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       No      

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?   Uncertain      I have felt an increased awareness of other worldly communications and visits.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes     I am now fully convinced of an Afterlife and Communication from the other side.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       My religious beliefs remain unchanged but I now feel more Spiritual.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Yes     I am much more open to the Idea of people having a soul and an afterlife, and that Deceased Persons are somehow involved in the lives of the living.

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     I have told all my family members of my experience and have met with mostly Accepting attitudes and Interest.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  I felt assured of an afterlife and that My best Mate was OK. Felt Loved and Watched over.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      Best part was receiving confirmation from the other side. Worst part was the fear that I was Dying.
