Louis got in bed with me and embraced me, hugging and whispering to me that he
loved me. I could smell him, feel his body, hear his voice in my ear. We both
levitated off the bed in a joyous embrace and it was blissful to hug him again
after all these years. I kept thinking, this is real, this is really happening,
even though it was so odd to levitate above the bed - and the bedsheet came up
with us! That made me know it was real and I was still in my body. After a short
time, I don’t know how long, we descended back to the bed and then I realised
that Louis was gone.
Was this experience difficult to express in words?
No

the deceased?
Yes
Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what
was communicated:
Louis whispered in my ear in his unmistakable voice that he loved me and missed
me
Did the
voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or
did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was
communicated?
Came from Louis’s
lips to my ear. He was there, it was his body, he felt and smelled like he did
when alive.
If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar
from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?
It was
his voice as I remembered it.
Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other
source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?
No
Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the
time of the experience?
No
Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact
from the deceased?
Yes
Louis slide into bed
beside me and took me in his arms.
Was the touch familiar or unfamiliar?
Very familiar - the feeling of him coming to bed was something I had forgotten
as he had been dead 12 years but it was totally familiar.
Was anything communicated by the touch?
Love, tenderness
Is there any possibility what you felt was from any other
source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?
It is conceivable
that pit was just a very vivid dream but totally different than any dream I have
ever had, and I keep a dream journal and have a very active dream life. This
felt real.
Did you see the deceased?
Yes
He looked like he
did when we first met, when he was 29 or 30. He was naked or in brief underwear,
I can’t recall as this was now 15 years ago or so.
How
clearly did the deceased appear?
He
appeared solid.
How much of the deceased did you see?
His
entire body.
Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?
He had
been ill and evacuated at time of death. Here he was healthy as he had been when
we first met and several years after until he became ill.
How healthy did the deceased appear to be?
Healthy and vibrant and vital.
Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the
surroundings at the time of your experience?
No.
Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor
associated with the deceased?
Yes
What smell, scent, fragrance or odor did you smell?
The
familiar scent of his body.
Was the smell, scent, fragrance or odor familiar?
Totally familiar though I had not smelled him in so many years.
Was anything communicated by the smell?
Comfort.
Is there any possibility that the smell, scent, fragrance
or odor was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of
your experience?
I
don’t think so.
How long did the
experience last?
Not
sure, I think about 10-15 minutes. It was not fleeting.
Was the beginning
and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?
His
appearance was sudden. He just appeared and slid into bed beside me. After we
levitated and the. Descended back into the bed, his disappearance was just as
sudden.
Could you sense the
emotions or mood of the deceased?
Yes
Loving, he said had
missed me, had wanted to hold me in his arms again.
Did the deceased
give you information you did not previously know?
I
asked him if he was not really dead and he said he was not dead and that no one
ever dies.
How do you currently view the reality of your experience?
Experience was probably real
Please explain why you view the reality of your experience
as real or not real:
Felt real, solid,
clear, vivid, and feels like any memory of something that has happened to me.
Was the experience dream like in any way?
No
Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the
experience:
I was
absorbed in a book, as I often am. I was not thinking of him at all when he
appeared. I was relaxed and happy to be having some leisurely down time. In a
mellow mood.
Was there any emotional healing in any way following the
experience?
Yes
After this event I
didn’t feel as lonely for him anymore, I knew he was looking after me and
available to me and would hear me if I ever mentally talked to him...
What was the best and worst part of your experience?
Best part
was the physical, tactile ability to hug and kiss my mate whom I had lost so
long ago. Worst part was that it was an isolated incident.
Has your life changed specifically as a result of your
experience?
No
Did you have any
changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
No
Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings
such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?
Yes
I feel certain of eternal life.
Death Compacts
are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies
first will try to contact the other(s).
Have you ever made such a compact?
Yes
Louis had a long
illness and knew he was dying. He promised me he would contact me if there was
life after death. Soon after his passing, I had a couple minor episodes—hearing
a song on the radio, other things that could have been explained away as
coincidences, but that did nevertheless support my belief in life after death .
But this event happened years and years later and to me was unmistakable proof.
Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events
during your experience that could be verified later?
No
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
Joy, certainty in life after death and that Louis and I were eternally
connected.
Was the experience witnessed or experienced by others?
No
Did you have any sense of altered space or time?
Uncertain
I am not sure how
long Louis and I embraced and connected, but then again, it is a timeless
experience when you are making out with your boyfriend!
Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge,
universal order and/or purpose?
No
Did you become aware of future events?
No
Did you have any
psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did
not have prior to the experience?
Uncertain
I feel I have become
more and more deeply intuitive through the years. Not psychic, but very
sensitive, empathic, with inner knowing and guidance. This process began before
this experience, though.
Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from
your body?
Uncertain
I might have
considered that the levitation was an out of body experience except that the bed
sheet came with us as we lifted off the bed. The sheet made me think I was still
in my physical body.
Did you meet or see any other beings other than the
deceased?
No
Did you see a light?
No
Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a place
other than the location described above?
No
Have you shared this experience with others?
Yes
Shared with close friends
and family. Some say it must have been a dream, others shared with me their own
strange encounters with dead loved ones.
Have you shared this experience formally or informally with
any other researcher or web site?
No
Is
there anything else you would like to add regarding your experience?
It was
real to me, a great gift. Have always had faith, but to me this is personal
proof for me.
Were there any associated medications or substances with
the potential to affect the experience?
No
Following the experience, have you had any other events in
your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the
experience?
No
Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out
of body experience or other spiritual event?
Uncertain
This was the most
tangible experience but have traveled out of body in dream states and have had
many tiny experiences that are easily explained away as coincidence.
Did the questions asked and information you provided
accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?
Yes
Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this
questionnaire.
Very good questionnaire, am binge watching the new Netflix series Surviving
Death and got the impulse to search for the survey/questionnaire mentioned in
one of the episodes!
