My Uncle Joe had just died.  He was only 40, and I was devastated by the news.  One night while I slept, I dreamed that I was in the cemetery with my mother and my sister.  My grandmother's grave was open.  My sister walked over to the grave and looked in.  As she was walking back to where I stood with my mom, I started toward the grave.  My sister told me not to go.  "You don't want to look," she said.  I kept walking.  When I looked into the grave, my grandmother was sitting on some kind of cot.  She was young and beautiful.  She looked up at me and said, "Don't you worry about your Uncle Joe.  He's with us now, and he's happy."

Was the experience difficult to express in words?     No  

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?   Yes   

Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:     My grandmother told me that my uncle was with her and that he was happy.  The communication was very clear.  No confusion at all.        

If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?     Very similar     

Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?   None.  

Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?   No.

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?   No                   

Did you see the deceased?   Yes    She was younger and more beautiful than I remembered.

How clearly did the deceased appear?   Very solid.  Very clear.

How much of the deceased did you see?    All

Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?   Approximately the same age, but somehow younger looking.

How healthy did the deceased appear to be?    Very healthy.

Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?    No.

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?    No                

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?   Yes     She was concerned about me.  She wanted me to know that my uncle was safe and happy.

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?   She said, "Don't you worry about your Uncle Joe.  He's with us now, and he's happy."

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?    Experience was definitely real    It was so vivid.  So clear.  It was just real.  I just know that.

Was the experience dream like in any way?    Yes    I believe that my grandmother came to me in a dream.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?    Yes    I was less devastated about the death of my uncle.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?    No "worst."  It was all good.  Wonderful to see my grandmother looking so beautiful and healthy.  Great to receive her message that my uncle was well and happy.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?    No        

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?    No    Again, not changed beliefs....perhaps enhanced and strengthened beliefs.

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?    Yes    It didn't change my beliefs in anyway, but it did strengthen them.
