Yesterday I had to work on my taxes. Of course, I saw all of the
bills associated with Chris death from 2008. Afterwards, I felt so sad and
tired, I began to cry. I went into his library and touched some of his things,
and a picture of him with Rollo. I cried and sobbed for about 15 minutes, until
I felt more tired, and even relaxed. I allowed myself to stare into the
mirror. I just sat there in front of the mirror and stared, even closed my eyes
from time to time. After a little while I saw a dim face looking out at me. It
was Chris, and he was actually looking at me, this was not like a home movie or
a photograph like the previous mirror experience. His face moved closer, and
then receded, always looking at me and smiling, as if to say, Its okay,
Celeste, everything will be okay. Im here for you, I have not really left.
The image of his face moved back and forth several times, and then faded. I
felt comforted afterwards.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
12-27-08
Chris appeared to me just as I was about to wake up. His apparition may have been what woke me. He was standing at the foot of my bed, where I often feel him, but this time I saw him. He was standing in a background of cloud or mist, and I could see him from the knees up. He was wearing a blue denim shirt and jeans. His hair was as he had worn it just before he got sick again, long enough on the top to comb over to the side. He was healthy and smiling, and he was not speaking with his lips, but his eyes were saying, Its okay. Im here for you and I love you.
I
opened my eyes and his image was gone, but I knew he had been there, just as
sure as I felt Quincys warm little body against me in bed.

Was the
experience dream like in any way?
Yes
dreamlike, in that he
was standing in a kind of mist, and that I was just waking up. but, prior to
this, I do not recall having any dreams of Chris that night. this was just his

Experience description:
4-24-08
Last night I dreamt that Chris was walking around places with me, that he was healthy and smiling. He seemed happy and restful, and he looked youthful as he did in his late 30's. His smile radiated that unconditional love that he always showed me.
When we ran into a group of people, they greeted us, but a few clearly said that Chris had to go back from the place he came, that he did not belong to here any longer. Chris and I walked on. We seemed to be on sidewalks, on a pleasant day, and then stopped at an arched doorway that seemed as if it might have been an Italian caf, as we used to go to. I though we were going to go in together, but he made no move to enter with me, but spoke to me as he did when we were out on a weekend, relaxed and content. I dont know what he said to me just then, but it was calming. I asked him if he had to go and he gave me that beautiful, sweet smile that he always had, and said, I can ask Nietzsche anything I want to, now, and hear Beethoven play piano anytime I want to. I knew he was in a good place.
Then I awoke. Tomorrow is the day I first met Chris in 1974. I was not immediately sad, but felt a certain peace after this dream, or visitation of his spirit.
12-2-08
This was a
lucid dream. I still recall it very vividly. I remember thinking that when I saw
Chris, that I knew I was dreaming, and that I thought he was dead, but I allowed
it to unfold peacefully. I saw him, but did not see myself, just as if I were
really walking with him, and seeing everything through my living eyes. He was
holding my hand and talking to me pleasantly, and lovingly, though I dont
recall what he said during our walk. He had the demeanor he used to have
whenever he wanted to comfort or reassure me about something that was bothering
me, calm and sweetness were in his voice. I remember the arched doorway was a
white stucco. I could see past it to a larger building where others were
milling about inside. I thought they were waiters because they wore black and
white. I thought we were going in for coffee as we did so many times during our
life together. He pressed my hand and walked inside smiling. Father Nigel said
it was really Chris spirit coming to visit with me, and that he believes that I
had a glimpse of heaven.
Was this experience
difficult to express in words?
No
Did you ONLY sense
an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing,
feeling or smelling them?
No
Did you hear the
deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?
Yes
Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:
I do not
remember what Chris was saying as we walked toward the cafe, but he was talking
in human form. At the end, I remember very clearly his telling me how he could
hear Beethoven play piano, and how he could ask Nietzsche anything.
Did
the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you,
or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was
communicated?
No, the voice came from Chris' lips.
If
you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound
the deceased made when they were alive?
It was the same voice
he had when he was alive.
Is
there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the
surroundings at the time of your experience?
no
Was
there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?
no
Did you feel a
touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?
Yes
He held my hand as
we walked, and also pressed my hand with his as he entered the doorway without
me.
Was
the touch familiar or unfamiliar?
familiar
Was
anything communicated by the touch?
love, comfort, and the
fact that I could not follow him any further.
Is
there any possibility what you felt was from any other source present in the
surroundings at the time of your experience?
no
Did you see the
deceased?
Yes
Chris was healthy
and peaceful looking, not ravaged by waste and disease as when he was dying. He
looked as he had when he was in his late 30's.
How
clearly did the deceased appear?
He was solid and human.
How
much of the deceased did you see?
I saw his entire body,
just as in real life.
Did
the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?
Chris was 57 when he
died, he looked in his late 30's here.
How
healthy did the deceased appear to be?
He was very healthy
here, not at all like the wasting man I sometimes have trouble putting out of my
conscious mind.
Is
there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the
surroundings at the time of your experience?
no
Did you smell a
distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?
Uncertain
What
smell, scent, fragrance or odor did you smell?
I may have sensed that
spring was in the air, the way I remember the time at the end of April was when I
first met him, and has remained in my mind the same, for every April. I think
that Chris smelled like a freshly showered Chris, but I am not sure.
Was
the smell, scent, fragrance or odor familiar?
Like Chris did every
morning of our life together.
Was
anything communicated by the smell?
that he was alive and
healthy.
Is
there any possibility that the smell, scent, fragrance or odor was from any
other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?
no. the windows
were closed, and none of his belongings were in the room at the time of my
dream.
How long did the
experience last?
however long a
dream lasts.
Was the beginning
and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?
no, this all
seemed like a real experience in living time.
Could you sense the
emotions or mood of the deceased?
Yes
unconditional love
for me, and his wanting to give me comfort.
Did the deceased
give you information you did not previously know?
He indicated to
me by his last comments, that he was in a place of complete peace, combined with
knowledge and creativity.
How do you
currently view the reality of your experience?
Experience was
definitely real
Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not
real:
I knew that Chris was already dead when he came to me in this 'dream,' and I
remember acknowledging that to myself and telling myself that I would 'just go
with it' to see what would happen. I also did not see myself, as we do not see
the whole of ourselves when we are in our waking lives, but only limbs and torso
from our own eyes. I thought I must be dreaming, but it had an unbroken
sequence, unlike the fragmented dreams I usually have when sleeping.
Was
the experience dream like in any way?
Uncertain
At first I thought I
was dreaming, but then everything seemed so real.
Describe in detail
your feelings/emotions during the experience:
I was very glad to see
Chris and to see him healthy and peaceful. I was overjoyed to be with him once
more and have him talking to me and holding hands, the way we had always done.
I was grateful to know that he was safe, happy, and no longer afraid and angry
at this impeding death. Also, I was happy to know that he still loved me , and
always would, and that he forgave my shortcomings of coping with his death.
Was there any
emotional healing in any way following the experience?
Yes
Before Chris died, I
had asked him to come back to me and tell me that he was alright. he did more
than that, in giving his love and forgiveness. I felt better than I had
previously.
What was the best
and worst part of your experience?
The best part was being
able to spend some loving time with Chris. The worst was that I could not enter
the doorway with him.
Has your life
changed specifically as a result of your experience?
N0 comment
Describe:
It is all about
love, although I still have a terrible time coping with the physical loss of my
husband.
Did
you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?

our loved ones when we pass from this world, and that we have some purpose in
remaining behind when we lose the ones we love.
Did
the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death,
afterlife, God, etc.?
N0
comment I know now that when we die, we will take with us, love and
knowledge, and that Chris will be there for me.
