Approximately a week after my Mum passed over suddenly, I was sitting in my
living room watching T.V but not really taking any notice as I was thinking
about her. My friend was on the phone and was walking up and down as he was
speaking. I was feeling very low at this point and missing her. I remember
thinking 'Mum what an I going to do now you're not around.' It was immediately
after I thought this that I got a distinct smell of the perfume she used to wear
who's name I don't know. It was very clear and strong as though the bottle had
been sprayed a few inches in front of my face. It lasted for several seconds
then disappeared. When my friend got off the phone I asked if he could smell it
but he couldn't. I even sniffed at his clothes to see if that was where it was
coming from but there was nothing. Although I took home some towels from her
house that did contain her scent, it was very faint and the towels were upstairs
in the bathroom well away from the living room. Although I can't say the
experience has convinced me one hundred percent, I do feel a strong possibility
that it may have been her way of letting me know she was there and I drew some
comfort from it.
