I was at home on my own, hadn't been feeling very well that day so was just lying on the sofa, with the dog lying by me on the floor.
At about 2.10 I noticed a glimpse of Gold light in the corner of my left eye, by the lounge door followed by a Christmas card falling off the mantelpiece (which had been in the same place for 2 weeks), then a grey shadow moved across the room out of the door. I looked around to see if something was about to fall on my head and it was a warning to move but saw nothing and proceeded to pick up the card and place it back with the others.
I kept looking round for a reason, but all the doors and windows were shut, and until it happened the dog was asleep so there was no movement in the room. I decided not to worry about it and went back to watching the TV.
About 10 minutes later I received a call from the Casualty Department who passed me over to my mum (then i knew). My dad had just suffered a Heart Attack and his condition was serious - Up until then he'd suffered from High Blood Pressure, but not been seriously ill. I rang my sister, and we both rushed to the hospital - on driving I thought the sign was from my dead brother telling me dad was very ill. He was pronounced dead within 10 minutes of us arriving - My mum said after he'd stopped breathing in the ambulance (at 2.10pm)
On
reviewing what had happened things then made more sense- the card that had
fallen was the one received from my Boyfriend stating "To the One I love" It's
made me much more at ease with his sudden passing. On reflection I think
my dad needed me to be strong for my mum and knew if he passed me a message it
would help me.
