I
was talking to my father for quite some time while he was dying in hospital (the
day before he died).
He
was in a quiet side room on the 9th floor of the district hospital.
I
asked him if he could please tell me where he had put his memoirs (he had had an
amazing and interesting life), as he never told me where they were.
He wasn't able to either when his Parkinson's had reached an advanced
stage.
My
brother and I had agreed to give tributes to Dad, and the evening before his
funeral and committal, I went to his study to type up my tribute.
I
felt this very cold air around my lower legs, and as I suffer from Health
anxiety, I immediately bent down to see what was going on.
A
green folder caught my eye to the left of my legs underneath Dad's desk.
Neither myself, my husband or brother had ever noticed anything under
Dad's desk before (when I told them about it).
I
reached across, picked up the green folder, and looked inside - there were Dad's
memoirs!
I
thanked my father for showing me where they were.
